Today, I'd like to share about an offline quiz application!! OFFLINE?? Yes, you don't need to use internet connection to make a quiz. The application called Hot Potatoes.

Hot Potatoes is a freeware for creating quizzes. HotPot includes different applications for creating :
1. JQuiz : multiple choice and short answer questions
2. JMatch : matching exercises
3. JMix : ordering exercices
4. JCross : crossword
5. JCloze : gap fill exercices

Follow these steps to download Hot Potatoes app :

1. Open Hot Potatoes link : https://hotpot.uvic.ca/index.php#downloads

2. After you download, it will comes up on your desktop like this

3. Open the application. You can choose which quiz type you want to make.

It is free and simple right?

After download it you can open the application without internet connection. Fantastic!! You can start to make your quiz!

It is nice to have an offline application like Hot Potatoes, it is very flexible especially for them who can't afford and don't have a good internet connection. Yeah, it is one of the solution if we don't have internet connection, but there are some drawbacks in this application, it doesn't have a nice design on the quiz template. It looks like old fashioned quiz. It is not as engaging as Quizizz website which will show funny memes after answering the questions. In Quizizz we can't find like JCloze or JCross type. I personally think every learning application/website have it's own advantages and drawbacks.

This opportunity, I'll tell you some steps to make JCross and JMatch Quiz!!

JCross steps :

1. Open the application and choose JCross.

2. After that you can type your quiz name and crossword in the space below(see on the picture)

3. After finish typing, you can give your crossword clue, just click on "Add Clues"

4. Type every number's clue.

5. Then, you can look the results offline on the browser and save your crossword, click on the button I show you on the picture.

6. Save it in .htm file.

JMatch steps :

1. Open the application and choose JMatch.
.

2. Then, type your quiz name and fill in the left and right items.

3. Then, you can look the results offline on the browser and save your JMatch, click on the button I show you on the picture.

4. Save it in .htm file.

Yeayyy!! Finish! I think you can do it by yourself without my steps because it is very easy.
