Today, I'm here to tell you about FLIPPED CLASSROOM
Have you heard about Flipped Classroom before?
A flipped classroom is one where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school. Students watch videos at home, then come to school to do practice or classroom activities. Also, students not come to the class with a blank mind, at least they come with some background knowledge and questions. Actually, I am not sure that I've experiencing flipped classroom. Last time, my lecture Miss Anita who teach my writing class, shared to us a video. She told us to watch it, then she said that she will discuss it later in the next meeting. I watched the video and at the next class she discussed and told us to make a biography about the person in the video that we watch.
I personally think flipped classroom not effective in Indonesian classroom. Why? because Indonesia doesn't have the facility yet to do this program. There are lots of unfortunate children or family out there to provide this program. Internet consider an expensive thing in Indonesia. We should pay for it, even though sometimes the internet has a bad connection. Also, like what i already said before, if the students/institutions cannot provide the internet connection, how come students have their own gadget in their home?
Actually the technique is quite simple for teachers. It just need a basic computer skills. If teachers want to take from video on youtube, ted ed and so on it will be quite simple. It is a different case if teacher want to record themselves using camera. They will need editing skills too and just like regular classroom, success depends on the quality of the teacher, the way of communication and give the material or instruction.
Khan academy, Ted ed, ed puzzle are website that will help teachers to make a flipped classroom. This opportunity I'll tell you about Ted Ed. As always, there are some advantages and drawbacks. Ted Ed has lots of video lessons, it can simplify the topic through engaging animations for students of all ages. It also has variety purposes like homework, an introduction to a topic lesson or class discussion. You can make your own lessons and custom the questions and discuss with each other. With Ted Ed, you can practice your listening skills. Drawbacks : because it is a video, you need an internet connection, also whenever I click on different lessons, they will show up on the lesson page. It is a little bit distracting, they show up in the same page with the lesson that you made before. A little bit confused when you are searching for your own lesson.

It is about how language evolve. I made this for high school students. It has watch, think (questions), dig deeper(another source that related to the topic), discussion (discuss a problem together). Make sure students have an internet connection. That's all from me today, Thankyou.
